In recent years, the Isekai genre has become very famous, and many anime with great potential are being produced and released featuring Isekai storylines. The most intriguing things about these anime are their animation, storyline, and great memorable characters with whom anime fans are obsessed. We have prepared a list of the top 5 Isekai anime which are worth your time and if you are a fan of this genre you most certainly should watch them.

5. The Devil is a Part-Timer!


The Devil is a Part-Timer!
Is a Japanese anime based on a light novel, produced by studio White Fox. This anime follows a “Demon Lord” being trapped in a normal human world and his new life as an ordinary human.


Sadao Maou is the main male protagonist of the anime who is a demon lord in the world “Ente Isla”. After a fierce battle with the hero Emi Yusa in his quest of conquering Ente Isla, he retreats from the battlefield by using transportation magic.


After arriving in this whole new world, Sadao Maou surprisingly abides by the rules of this world and starts his new life as a “Part-time worker” at a restaurant, hence deriving the name of the anime.

The anime has an interesting storyline with a stunning art style. The character development of all the characters in this anime is the heart and soul of this anime.

The anime consists of 1 season and  13 episodes in total while the second season is on its way.

4. Sword Art Online


Sword Art Online
is a Japanese anime series produced by studio A-1 Pictures. The whole anime revolves around gamers all over the world who are stuck into an online virtual MMORPG game with their lives at stake. 


Kirigaya Kazuto is the main male protagonist of the anime who is a die-hard fan of the first fully virtual game called “SAO”. He dives into the game hoping to enjoy the latest technology of “Nerve Gear” ( a device used for virtual reality games) but he ends up in a horrible abomination created by Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the game.


“Dying in this game will result in death in the real world.”

“The only way out is to clear the game.”

With these conditions in place, the players must work out together to clear the game but a hidden tragedy of malicious people working behind the shadows might become a hurdle in their quest.

The anime has a beautiful and eye-catching art style and a great soundtrack. Its unique storyline is what makes this anime one of the best in the Isekai genre.

The anime consists of 3 seasons and 96 episodes in total.

3. The Rising Of the Shield Hero

The Rising Of the Shield Hero is a Japanese anime based on a light novel and it is produced by studio Kinema Citrus. The whole anime revolves around the 4 humans summoned to another world as 4 cardinal heroes to save the world from the chaos brought by “Waves”

Naofumi Iwatani is the main protagonist of the anime, an ordinary human studying at a university until he got summoned to another world as a “Shield Hero” to fight against the waves. Shield Hero is considered a useless figure due to his inability to attack properly and because of this resentment of people and the King towards Naofumi, they betray him and he end-ups losing all his pride, wealth, and almost everything.

Naofumi’s personality becomes twisted and self-preserving due to tragic events, they corrupted him. He started his journey to survive in this world by every means.

The anime has pretty good animation and storyline. The sarcastic and twisted personality of the protagonist is a major aspect of the popularity of this anime.

The anime has 1 season and 25 episodes in total while the second season is on its way. The Isekai genre fans are eagerly waiting for Naofumi to rise from the depths of this toxic world and redeem himself.

 

2. That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime


That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
is a Japanese anime series, it is produced by studio Eight Bit. The whole anime focuses on the life of an ordinary man reincarnated in another world as a slime and his adventures there. 


Satoru Mikami gets killed by a random assailant on the street. He gets reincarnated in another world as slime. He meets with the storm dragon Veldora and becomes friends with him. The storm dragon renames him and granted him powers. He becomes the Rimuru Tempest


It is a very interesting fantasy tale with an intricate plot. Rimuru is loved by its fans because of its personality as a “Man Of Culture”. The whole anime has stunning visuals and a breathtaking soundtrack.

The anime series consists of 2 seasons and 36 episodes in total.

 

1. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation


Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
is a Japanese anime based on a Light novel it is produced by Studio Bind. The whole anime revolves around the new life of a shut-in gamer who is reincarnated in another world full of magic and supernatural aspects.


Rudeus was killed in an accident and gets reincarnated into another world. Even though he is reincarnated as a newborn child, he retains all his past memories.

He becomes accustomed to this world very fast due to his maturity. Rudeus has a great talent for magic so he trains under Roxy Migurdia, a demon magician. Rudeus learns swordsmanship from his father Paul Greyrart. He becomes the magic instructor of Eris Boreas Greyrart, a noble heiress of the Greyrart family. She has a quick temper and a Tsundere personality.


The anime has a unique plot with a striking art style. The tragic memories of the protagonist as a failed man in his previous life and his determination to live this life with no regrets is probably the main reason behind the popularity of this anime.

The anime has 1 season and 11 episodes in total.
