Dammit Trailers!!!!

By Corey Floyd

Okay, we all get really hype when we see a new Trailer for a movie right? Of course, we do. When something we have only been hearing about and seeing set photos of finally reveals itself in a trailer, you are ready to give them your money. Then over the next few months, they put out more trailers and everything is cool. Until they start giving away too much in the trailer and it just leaves me pissed off. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone here. Today I am going to talk about some of these offenders...
A few weeks ago, we were graced with an action-packed trailer to Kingsman: The Secret Circle. We see the Return of Eggsy and Roxy and Merlin. We see that their base has been destroyed. We also meet the US version of the team with Channing Tatum and Halle Berry as well as an intense chase scene and a dude with a Bionic arm.

Just take my money!! We are in there September 22nd. Last five seconds of trailer ruined the suspense.  I will still see it but now I’m not as excited.
Our next offender Transformers: The Last Knight. I know a LOT of you already have grievances with this series. But I’m not gonna get into that, at least not today. In the first trailer, we are blessed with a monologue by Anthony Hopkins hinting that this war has been going for a long time. We are shown scenes of WW1 as well as Knight of the round table. We also see Mark Wahlberg doing whatever hell he does (probably working out) and we see that Josh Duhamel has returned to the fold with some military buddies. One of the final scenes of the trailer is Optimus Prime apologizing and attacking Bumblebee the photo up top is the last thing you see. I was sold do i expect a great story not really but you had me in suspense.
The next trailer revealed that he missed.
Why must you Hollywood people mess up?   You had people especially kids on the edge of their seats. Then today they put out a new trailer. Where they did it again!!! Look for yourself    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD5IJvKcbEQ . I’m so frustrated because there are some studios out there that know what they are doing when it comes to making a good trailer without giving away good parts. MARVEL STUDIOS is a great example. I cannot recall a film where they give everything away in the trailer from Marvel. If you can hit that comment section. Somewhere in Hollywood there are people with no idea how to make a proper trailer that makes you want to see a movie that doesn’t give away a plot twist (Terminator Salvation). Or mislead the hell out of you (Suicide Squad). Even JJ Abrams knows how to do a proper movie trailer (even if Star Wars 7 was just episode 4 all over again). What happen to being a little mysterious like Paranormal Activity. Don’t do a misleading trailer like Godzilla when you have Cloverfield. Don’t make a trailer look like a comedy when it’s actually a drama. Studios stop being scared and showing everything in a trailer (Amazing Spiderman 2, Lucy) to the point that seeing the actual movie is a chore.  You must find balance. That’s it for me today I will leave you with a clue about my next movie review, it also happens to be a great example of a movie trailer too.

Who's Next? Part Two

By Corey Floyd

A few months ago, I talked about potential casting choices in future comic book based films. If you haven’t seen it check it out here http://amerimemedia.blogspot.com/2017/03/whos-next-part-1.html?view=mosaic . Now I’m ready to return to the casting gauntlet with a few more roles and who should play them. None of these are set in stone by any studio just a few thoughts on who can play who.

First in our lineup is Edward Nigma aka the Riddler. He is part of Batman rogue’s gallery known for using more brain and a lot less brawn truly a match of intellect for batman. Since Cory Michael Smith is covering the more psychotic side of Riddler in the Gotham series I want to focus more on the methodical side of him. There has been a huge fan push for Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons to play him. I don’t think I would work out well because Sheldon is too damn annoying and the portrayal would become comedic. I think Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds would work out very well.  Besides he’s already played him in the Assault on Arkham animated movie (better than Suicide Squad check it out). Let’s be honest at least DC animation is right on the money more the DCEU this choice would be great. He has already shown on his hit show that he can be smart and dangerous without touching a weapon.

My next Idea is Adam Warlock.

For those of you who watched the extra credit scenes from Guardians of the Galaxy. You know that they hinted at Adam Warlock in the next Guardians film. The next stage in evolution for The Sovereign. Naturally is going to be different from his original origin. I was scratching my head about this one for a while but I think I have a winner.

Jared Padalecki from the long running Supernatural series is a sure bet in my book. He has shown a lot of growth as an actor in this series and maybe it’s time for him to return to the silver screen just like Warlock he can be a good or bad guy plus he has the potential physique already has the hair. His first two adventures in film were not the best projects (Friday the 13th reboot & House of Wax reboot) but maybe third time's the charm. Maybe we can throw Jensen Ackles in as the new John Blaze too.

My Last choice is a hard one because there are no official announcements so call this wishful thinking.

IronHeart aka Riri Williams the teenage prodigy. I feel like when they announce the next phase for marvel studios this will be one of the steps being made. Not saying that they will Kill off RDJ’s Iron Man but perhaps he takes a leave of absence and a certain young lady builds her own. Now I have a couple of choices here so here me out. My first choice is Amandla Stenberg. Most remembered for her role as Rue in The Hunger Games she has been consistently working on film and TV. Her current film Everything shows a display of an innocent side (warning this film will come for your tears). While the real attitude she gives off in real life will transition very well to screen. She is at the perfect age to cast for this role, it would be just like hiring Tom Holland as Spiderman.

My other draft pick is Skai Jackson. Who, at such a Young age, has a work history challenging some adults in Hollywood. She's already been called the next big star. She has a very strong fan base thanks to her roles on Nickelodeon & Disney. Either choice would really work out. I think Disney would love to have one of their stars from the little screen make to the Big screen and still be under their roof.

Of course, all these picks are just my opinion. I assume you have a few of you own don’t be shy hit us up on FB, Instagram & Twitter.
