Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 Review (Spoilers!!)

By Corey Floyd
Friday night I played no games and hauled ass to the theaters to see Guardians of the Galaxy volume 2. I was not disappointed. This was a great sequel. The movie starts with the gang all together fighting a huge tentacle monster and Baby Groot still voiced by Vin Diesel and now motion captured by him as well playing music and dancing around the battlefield while giving everyone else a moment to give an intro to the film almost like a 80’s sitcom. Of course, they are victorious and return to a race called the Sovereign a race that thrives on perfection and Gold. The Leader of their Planet is a woman named Ayesha.
Elizabeth Debicki (Victoria from “The Man from U.N.C.L.E”) plays a badass yet again. Meanwhile our Team of Heroes is still having a little trouble getting along Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) purposely causes friction between himself and the team and Ayesha after he screws her over in a deal. She found herself with only one course of action, to shoot them out of the sky. In an aerial dogfight that looked and sounded like Galaga things were not looking good for our heroes then you see a guy flying by and in a wave of light all the ships were destroyed. I had to admit I thought it was the Silver Surfer for like 40 seconds. After a hazardous Crash landing we come to find out it’s not the Silver Surfer (DAMN you FOX) its EGO (Kurt Russell) and his assistant Mantis (Pom Klementiff) to reveal that his is StarLords father. Meanwhile on the other side of the Galaxy when run into Yondu played the awesome Michael Rooker. I want to take a second out to tip my hat to this guy. He has been the bad guy of bad guys since the start of his career, he is the best at being bad. We find him having a quiet existential moment when he sees another Ravanger as he goes to greet him we see Howard the Duck (Easter egg) and we see Sylvester Stallone. Yondu goes to greet him and we find out his name is Stakar Ogord and they are not friends. Come to find out that the Ravagers are like a fraternity with different chapters and Yondu’s chapter has been ex-communicated. Apparently, they have a rule about no kidnapping children which we know he has done because that is the origin of StarLord’s story.  At the same time his leadership is currently under scrutiny after his fellow space pirates feel that he has gone soft especially when it comes to Starlord. Meanwhile the team meets Starlord’s dad EGO played by SCI FI royalty Kurt Russell who regales them about how he been searching for his son and want to show him his origins. Ego is a living Planet, literally!

For the sake of the story he has the ability to make a humanoid form. This is where i stop myself. I’m not going thru the whole damn film you need to see it. But I will say that this film takes a very dark turn. There’s a mutiny among the Ravagers that leaves a lot of them fall to Yondu favorite tune. Which reminds you a lot of Xmen Quicksilver scene.

We find out the EGO is a total savage him and Thanos should be friends besties even. We also get a glimpse at a very serious StarLord that was eyebrow raising to say the least.  Of course, there is
. The movie overall was without a doubt better than the original. We also get the best Stan Lee cameo to you that make me believe more that he might be the MCU watcher.  We see that Gamorra and Nebula eventually bury the hatchet after an all-out gun & fist fight of course. By the end of the movie we see a lot of seeds being planted and star cameos out the Ying Yang and gave a big nod to the original comic book Guardians as well as Doctor Strange. This was great action comedy from the MCU. Of course all of this is accompanied by a great soundtrack. Make sure you go out there and watch this one. Now it just means we are 2 movies away from the most anticipated film from Marvel Infinity War. Don’t forget! I AM GROOT! A New Def Jam game maybe? Roster Ideas by Corey Floyd

over the past month or so DefJam has been throwing some hints that they might make another fighting game. About two console generations ago (ps2, Xbox, GC) there was a game from EA BIG called Def Jam Vendetta. It was a wrestling style game but with hip-hop artists. DMX would literally kick your ass. Redman & Method Man was the best (and still are) tag team ever. It was a hit !! The follow-up fight for NY was a great sequel with even more artists in fighting form. Then the third one was garbage, hot garbage simmering in garbage juice. It bombed hard. Now it looks like we might get another. Bosslogic even came up with a title. Today I'm gonna come up with who should be in it. Some old, some new, some more gals, and some new dudes. 1. Missy Elliot Missy Elliot has been in the game for a long time. Somehow despite all of her hits, she has never been given the title of queen of hip-hop. In the game, she could be the queen of mean. Give her a footing style that matc

Scissor Seven on Netflix Stream or Skip

STREAM OR SKIP?   Scissor Seven is a Chinese animated series that was streamed in 2018 with the name of Killer Seven. As soon as Netflix streamed this show at the start of 2020, it became a hit globally! With the increasing popularity of Anime, Netflix has created a whole Anime library for anime fans. Scissor Seven is the first Chinese anime being streamed on Netflix. It’s a serious debate on whether to call it an anime or not, but I won’t get into that discussion for now.   Why Should You Watch Scissor Seven? If I needed to coat only a single thing in the list of why you should be watching it that would be the COMEDY! It is hilarious! Seven might not be the best killer, but that Goofy-head is the best entertainer for sure! It is a hilarious satire on the whole hero business, as we can how Seven is nothing but a Professional Goof! Scissors is his ultimate weapon on which he uses his telekinetic abilities. Every Hero needs a sidekick, here our sidekick is an angry bird with
