Who's Next!?! Part 1

BY COREY FLOYD Last week Taraji P. Henson said in an interview that she would like to be Marvel Superhero. Which had me thinking not sure who she would be, but it would be cool.  So, I raise the questions with a few of my own answers. Who should be cast as a comic book character next?  After they went with another choice for Black Manta Michael Jai White been fiending to get back into the superhero scene. Perhaps with this Spawn reboot directed by Todd McFarlane himself, he should be a prime candidate to get back in the saddle again. If you read last week I wrote about the upcoming Venom movie which I am skeptical about a 2018 release,  but I’m looking past Venom I see Carnage. I would love to see a live action Carnage film now for years’ fans have been calling on Jim Carrey to play his human side of Cletus Cassidy, but Carrey has shown less interest in playing characters and that okay. I think we have a good replacement. How do I know because he has already prove

GO GO POWER RANGERS!!! (spoiler free!! review)

By Corey Floyd In 1992, there was a Japanese series called Super Sentai or Zyurangers that everyone enjoyed. The decision was made to adapt it for American audiences. The Saban production company decided to give it a name similar to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by better.  They presented American audiences with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Teenagers with attitude and token 90’s flair and stereotypes they hit our Saturday morning cartoons like a hurricane. They have been going strong for 24 seasons here with toys video games and 2 movies and then 2015 happened. In February of 2015,  A short film by Joseph Kahn hit YouTube. It was a Dark Reboot that was really good and too raw for children. (check it out here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw5vcUPyL90&t=9s  ) But it got people talking and a few months later they announced a reboot movie. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was made for 100 million dollars and is making it back and some.  The ranger cast consis

VENOM 2018!!! I'm not buying it

By Corey Floyd Last week Sony announced that they are doing a Venom film to be released in 2018. Now this sounds good, but I took a deeper look. According to my sources they are not even in preproduction. The only names attached to the project are a couple of screenwriters and a producer. Dante Harper is writing for Venom. His credits are a bunch of behind the scenes documentaries, so I guess he’s gonna be doing that. The other writer attached is Jeff Pinkner who wrote the Amazing Spiderman 2. He is also the executive producer of the DARK TOWER film, and has written the upcoming Jumanji sequel starring the Rock. Now this writing team doesn’t sound too bad, but I must admit the producers do makes this sound a lot better. We have Avi Arad most known for his work under Iron Man and the first two X-Men films. To be honest, he has been more involved in comic book related entertainment than anyone else in the industry. The other producer is Scott Rosenberg, most known for

Iron Fist…. More like Tin Fist! TV Review

By Corey Floyd Hey, Folks! Now a about a week ago, I did a piece about Iron fist not being about appropriation. I was even looking forward to the series. I just finished it ………………. LAME! This was the Last piece of the puzzle before we get the Defenders on Netflix and it wasn’t great.  Finn Jones previously known for playing Loras Tyrell on Game of thrones is our hero. I feel that this is not the role for him. His acting comes off too stiff. I don’t think he ever picked up the comic to study the character which would have been essential to capture this character correctly.  The fight scenes were okay I guess.  IF DAREDEVIL DIDN’T DO IT BETTER. The fight scenes that don’t involve him went well. Any fight that involves him was stiff. You can see them counting their moves and because of his ridiculous hair style, his stuntman can only do so much.  The supporting characters and antagonists were actually really good except for a few assassins but that might have been Jo
